OK, I really have to put my two cents in here. The last time US troops defended THIS country was WW2. We were last attacked by Al-Qaida, hiding out in Afghanistan. We have enough military resources to wipe Al-Qaida off the face of the map. Convenient isn’t it, that their leader escaped.
The wars with Japan, Germany and Korea are long over. Why do we have bases and stupid amounts of troops there protecting them, free of charge? They can protect themselves. If they want to go to war with each other, let them knock themselves out! Just make sure they use their own soliders and money.
It seems that American industry likes to move jobs out of the US. When things get too hot for them in those countries they squawk to the US politicians, that they have bought, to bail them out. Our politicians then make up a bunch of bull and send in the troops to be killed. Well I say if big oil & other industries want mercenaries they should hire them. They have the money. They took the risk by banking their resources overseas, they should pay the price, not the rest of us.
Now, lets be honest here. Call our soldiers mercenaries and PAY them like real mercenaries, which by the way get 100 grand a year. US soldiers get 23 grand a year. A ninety percent discount. Pretty good deal for the fat cats, isn’t it?
